The MacRumors Show: iPhone and Apple Watch Event Expectations

On this week's episode of The MacRumors Show, we discuss Apple's next event, which is rumored to see the unveiling of the iPhone 15 lineup, Apple Watch Series 9, and second-generation Apple Watch Ultra.

According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, Apple's next event will likely take place on Tuesday, September 12, followed by the launch of new devices on Friday, September 22. The event is expected to take place with a similar format to last year's iPhone unveiling, involving an in-person component with members of the media invited to Apple Park, a pre-recorded video presentation, and hands-on time with Apple's new products afterwards.

With just over a month to go until then, we discuss our expectations of the ‌iPhone 15‌ lineup and some of the latest rumors about the devices, including a potential 2TB storage option for the Pro models. We also talk through the significance of the S9 chip as the ‌Apple Watch Series 9‌ and second-generation Apple Watch Ultra's main upgrade and what else we could see announced at the event, such as new accessories with USB-C ports.

honestly don't understand the value of shortcuts, every time I've sat down to play with them I can never think of anything worth making a shortcut for.

Expectations?. Null.
Horrible dynamic island in more devices, removing the only non falible part of the phone (mute swith). Another color.
Fastest iphone ever. Bad battery tech, as in the current pro and Max 14s (really, in 6 months battery health declined 5%?).
Another dull "update".

Cant even edit a misstyped number in the dial pad in my "smartphone".
Lots os imessage updates only valuable for USA users (the rest of the wolrd uses WA or Telegram or other).
Shortcuts keep being "almost good", cant set a VPN to connect or disconnect automatically based on location, for example.
The Keyboard is pathetic, the correction is super poor and machine learning from Apple is quite poor.
Siri is an ooooold joke that is 6 years behind at least the "competitors", it is not even a race in AI with Apple, they are not even training for the race, just looking from the Tv thinking "I want to be there when Ingrow up".
Horizontal alignment in Max sized devices would be really nice to have, butit is a forgotten dream.
My expectation: so poor adoption that people starts looking into foldable phones from real innovative companies and in 2 years the maret share balance is changing.

I'm new here. The fellow on the left apparently runs the show. I'd like to suggest he sit through and watch this episode himself - imagining himself in our shoes - and then making some adjustments to his listening style.

Well, I have a super useful shortcut for shutting down my iPad Air at a press of this one (virtual) button, instead of fiddling with its physical buttons. Amazing!
